Steel building transportation may be arranged by either the dealer or supplier as specified in the order documents. If the transportation of the steel building system materials is arranged by the supplier, it will be delivered in the order or sequence that is most convenient to the supplier. If there needs to be a special arrangement, this must be specified on the order documents. If the materials are shipped by a common carrier, the dealer is bound by the rules of the carrier. The dealer may not return the materials to the supplier without the supplier's written authorization.
If the transportation of the steel building system is arranged by the dealer, the delivery is made to the dealer at the plant. The dealer may subcontract the transportation to a common carrier. If the dealer subcontracts the transportation, the carrier is responsible for the receipt of the steel building materials at the plant and the transportation of the materials to the delivery address. The dealer is responsible for receipt of the materials at the delivery address unless the receipt of materials is subcontracted to the erector or contractor.
If the transportation is arranged by the supplier, the steel building materials will be delivered to the address specified on the order documents. The dealer is responsible for receiving the materials. The supplier may subcontract all or part of the transportation to a common carrier.
