The steel building supplier is not responsible for the erection of the steel building system, the supply of tools or equipment, or any other field work required. The supplier does not provide any field supervision for the erection of the structure or perform any inspections of the steel building system before or after the erection.

Steel Building Erectors

Steel building erectors usually erect the steel building system according to their standard procedures unless otherwise stated on the contract documents.

The contract documents may specify details about the erection of the steel building system. If there is information about the erection included in the contract documents, only the work listed in the contract documents is included in the steel building system erection.

Included in Steel Building Erection

The erector is responsible for:

1. All labor tools and equipment needed to unload and fully erect the steel building system safely and properly. Some standard and non-standard components and accessories of a steel building system.

2. Insulation and insulation accessories assembled in conjunction with the exterior wall and roof of the steel building system.

3. The compressed air and electric power required for steel building system erection.

4. Removal of temporary buildings or trash resulting from the erection work.

5. Temporary guys and bracing necessary for squaring, plumbing, and securing the structural framing against loads.

Although the erection process may vary somewhat depending on the individual erector. All of the above are usually considered the responsibility of the erector.
