Other Steel Building Project Materials

The following items are generally not available directly from the steel building supplier.

1. Any materials for foundations, concrete, or masonry walls such as reinforcing steel, concrete, masonry materials, anchor bolts, anchor bolt templates, embedments, leveling plates, tie rod or any other materials required to set or connect to masonry or concrete.

2. Insulation and insulation accessories.

3. Interior framing and finishing materials.

4. Interior downspouts, underground drains and connections.

5. Fire protection materials and systems.

6. Cranes, crane rails, crane runway stops and material handling systems.

7. Overhead, roll-up, or other industrial type doors.

8. Other miscellaneous iron or steel including, but not limited to, stairs, railings, ladders, platforms, etc.

9. Plumbing or any other type of piping system.

10. Electrical equipment, apparatus and wiring.

11. Mechanical equipment such as fans, air conditioning, and vetilation units.

12. Flashing or counter flashing material used for tie-in to other structures.

Rarely, will any of the above be aquired through a steel building supplier. In fact, separate items may need to be purchased individually from independent sources. However, some suppliers have special arrangements on certain items and may be able to obtain these items at a discount directly through a manufacturer. You should plan on obtaining these items separately from your steel building system.
